He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Heckman and Naomi Heckman; and his siblings, Phoebe O'Brien (Ray), Jean Gaska (Joe) and Arthur Heckman, Jr. (Judy).
He is survived by: his wife Jane Heckman; his children, Wendy Heckman, Laura Walker (Mike), Amy Uhrig (Keith) and Andrea Strange; his grandchildren, Kyle Harmon, Shelby Harmon, Isabel Uhrig, Jackson Wiley, Seth Uhrig, Cole Strange, Elijah Uhrig and Lucas Strange; and his great grandchild Sophia Harmon.
