He was predeceased by: his parents, Wladislaw "Walter" and Michalina "Maggie" Szachnieski. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Szachnieski; his children, Barry Szachnieski (Diann) of Cedar Hill and MaryJo Woodruff (Mike) of Mountain View; and his grandchildren, Andrea Gardner (Mark), Jason Szachnieski (Sarah), Mathew Espy (Emma), Nathaniel DeThomas, John Patton (Denise), James Patton (Cathryn) and JoEllen Patton. He is also survived by great grandchildren, four (4) great great grandchildren.
