He was predeceased by: his parents, Melburn Griffis and Erslie Ellen Griffis (Green); and his siblings, Sylvia Hayworth, Willie Griffis and Junior Griffis.
He is survived by: his spouse Janeta "Ann" Buntin; his children, Calvin Griffis (Mary) of Cassville, Missouri and Karen Capps (Kevin) of Springfield, Missouri; his sister Mary Good of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Rusty, Jennifer, Emily, Erica and Jonathan. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
