He was predeceased by: his parents, O. C. Hayes and Rose Hayes (Perkins); and his siblings, Lucille Hayes, Virginia Hayes, Louise Pryor, Ruby Barnett, Red Hayes, Cotton Hayes and Slim Hayes.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Hayes (Tammy) of Purdy, Ernest Hayes of Cassville, Kevin Hayes of Cassville, Missouri and Glenna Gluckert of Granby, Missouri. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
