He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Smithson and Goldie Earls Smithson; and his siblings, Patsy Ruth Smithson and Paul Smithson. He is survived by: his siblings, Bobby Smithson of Malden, Missouri and Louise Dodson of Caruthersville, Missouri; and his nieces, Shelly Yarbrough (Brent) of Atwell and Wendy Jenkins (Andy) of Ellisnore, Missouri.
