He is survived by: his children, Roger Thornton, Jr. of Carthage, Kris Thornton of Carl Junction, Eric Thornton of Carthage, Zack Thornton of Joplin, Missouri and Tina Thornsbrough of Carthage, Missouri; and his siblings, Jack Leon Thornton, Jr. of Carthage, Kenny Thornton of Carthage, Vicki Turner of Carterville and Kim Eimer of Carl Junction, Missouri. He is also survived by four grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Parker Mortuary (1502 S Joplin Ave, Joplin, MO 64804). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
