He was predeceased by: his former wife Ruth Ann; and his siblings, Margene Thurston and Melvin James Mitton Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his daughters, Jeannette Nye (Ryan) and Heather Mitton Sellers; his grandchildren, Lauren Sellers, Zachary Nye, Tyler Nye, Joshua Sellers, Trey Nye and Aydan Nye; his sister Joyce Rainey; and his stepchildren, Reuben Willis (Erin), Vance Willis (Sherry), Kelly Mendiola (Ron), Catherine Willis, Ben Willis (Laurie), Kristal Jenkins (DeMont) and Laura Lewis (Brad). He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
