He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd J. Cooley, Sr. and Ethel Bass; his stepfather Lee Bass; and his sister Shirley Alexander Banta. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Cooley; his son Michael "Mick" Cooley (Debbie) of Carthage; his grandchildren, Zachary Cooley (Alenya) and Whitney Webber (Chad); his great grandchildren, Layla and Jay Webber; and his brother Wayne Bass (Barbara).

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ulmer Funeral Home (1208 S Garrison Ave, Carthage, MO 64836). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
