“I was sad to hear about the passing of Leon. We both grew up in the same church where my father was the pastor. Leon was a youth leader when I was a teenager and I will never forget his great teaching and singing. He was one hundred percent sold out to God and his life was spent teaching the word of God. I have no doubt that his eternal reward is great. Our prayers go out to Darlene and the family.”

“I met Leon and Bro. Hankins Church in West Columbia in the summer of 1970. I liked his music and his message of Who We are in Christ. I especially loved how he reached our to the poor and needy like R. C. who he brought every Saturday to church and taught the Saturday Black childrens class about Jesus. Many of those kids greww up and became adult members of Bro Hankins church. I'll see you soon Leon we'll do some guitar pickin when I do. Love to your family”
