He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd West and Dorothy West (Tippett); and his brothers, Mendel and Denzil "Lee" West. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Nichols; his great grandchild Leilani Robinson; his siblings, Jim, Larry West (Illene) and Cheryl Tallman (Les); and his sister-in-law Marilyn West.
