He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor "Vic" Poindexter and Jewel Poindexter (Wiley); and his wife Cheryl Sterling. He is survived by: his son Dell Poindexter (Jill) of Carthage, MO; his brother Wayne Poindexter; his grandchildren, Amber Wilson (Poindexter), Jessie Poindexter and Sheyanna Powell (Poindexter); and his great grandchildren, Keara Knight, Brailee Jarrett and Kaisen Jarrett.
