He was predeceased by: his father Chester Hoffman; his wife Loretta Whitehead; his mother Vera Hoffman; and his brother Harry Hoffman. He is survived by: his children, Mark Hoffman (Jennifer) of Webb City, Missouri, Wendy Nachtigall (Bruce) of Rapid City, Teresa Hoffman (Lanny Berg) of Seattle, Washington, Julie Nieman (Mark) of Diamond Harbour and Misty Pinkard (James) of Neosho, Missouri; his grandchildren, Rachel, Rhianna, Caleb, Kelsey, Colby, Mandalyn, Jacob, Hanna and Haylee; his great grandchildren, Skyler, Violette, Autumn, Justice, Honour, Mallarie, Amielia and Avery; and his sisters, Myrtle Hightshoe-Smith-Arrick (Arnold) and Theona Wilburn (Leon).
