With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Marie Cowan of Carthage, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 26, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Burton Boswell and Nellie Helen McCullough; her husband Lee Cowan; her siblings, Ralph, Jack, Burt Boswell, Ava Riddle, Iola Graves and Nelda Boswell; her granddaughter Meghan "Maggie" Cowan; and her pets, Lucy and Tilly.

She is survived by: her children, Bill Cowan of Joplin, Robert Cowan (Lucia) of Carthage, Dale Cowan of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Gail Grigg of Carthage and Debbie Ulmer (Mike) of Mt. Vernon, Missouri. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ulmer Funeral Home (1208 S Garrison Ave, Carthage, MO 64836). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Grace Pointe Assembly of God (1605 S Baker Blvd, Carthage, MO 64836).
