He was predeceased by: his parents, James Murel Barnhart and Mary Ellen Barnhart (Hargrave); his sister Ellen Marie Young; his brother-in-law John Young; and his nephew John David Young.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Barnhart; and his sons, Michael David Barnhart (Susan), William Karl Barnhart (Ingrid) and Gregory Joseph Barnhart (Cody). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.
