With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vernon L. Smoot of Carrollton, Missouri, who passed away on September 23, 2022 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Smoot and Lucille Smoot (Martin); his siblings, Velma Lonergan (Toots), Clarence Smoot, Jr. (Bud), Helen McNiece, Laura Staton, Lawrence Smoot (Sonny), Bobby Smoot and Elizabeth McCollum; and his grandson Andrew Waters.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Bowen; his children, Terry Lee Smoot (Elizabeth) of Syracuse and Kathy Lightfoot of Carrollton, Missouri; his brothers, Lloyd Smoot (Donna) of Carrollton and Larry Cauthon (Lisa) of Fayette, Alabama; his grandchildren, Hanna Bittikofer (Josh), Chase Thompson (Chelsea), Brett Smoot (Kandice) and Lacie Waters; his great grandchildren, Gunner Thompson, Payton Smoot, Grafton Smoot, Keith Waters and Kallee Waters; and his pet Rocky.
