He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. Mayden and Bea Mayden; his brother Perry Mayden; his granddaughter Sophie Mayden; his brother-in-law Pete Stepp; his father-in-law John Hodges; and his nephew Chandler Newton.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy Diane Hodges; his children, Derek Mayden (Kaely), Jason Mayden (Rachel) and Caitlin Miller (Anthony); his siblings, Pam Stepp of Lee's Summit and Rob Mayden; his grandchildren, Rease, Rhett, Riley Mayden and Griffin Russell Miller; and his pets, Phillip, Daisy and Even.
The family suggests contributions to the Carrollton Recreational Park for playground equipment.
