She was predeceased by: her parents, Earnest C. Morrison and Lula Morrison (Bingham); her husband John Burnside; and her sister Maureen Morrison Smith. She is survived by: her son John Morrison Burnside of Minneapolis, Minnesota..

For twenty-five years, she was a volunteer for the March of Dimes, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, and American Cancer Society.
