He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Wellman and Ella Wellman; his brother-in-law Ralph Phillips; and his nephew Billy Phillips. He is survived by: his close friend Nancy Cooper (Willard Cooper) of Bosworth, Missouri; his godchildren, Woody, Jeanna of Hale, Shannon, Major Standley of Hale, Travis and Tammy Cooper of Carrollton, Missouri; his nieces and nephews, Kylee Stover, Brittany Mohn, Tiffany Cooper, Kelsey Cooper, Joshua Cooper, James Wellman, Lindsey Cooper, Ethan Cooper, Becky Bohnenberger and Angel Phillips; and his siblings, Carol Jean Phillips of Carrollton, Missouri, James "Jimmy" Walter Wellman (Angela) of Carrollton and Terry Lynn Wellman of Richmond, Missouri.
