It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joel Burgess of Carl Junction, Missouri, born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, who passed away on May 1, 2023, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father James Burgess; his brothers, Kelly and Larry Burgess; and his granddaughter Kenna Burgess. He is survived by: his significant other Debi; his children, Kodi Burgess of Carl Junction, Kim Jacks (Levi) of Joplin, April Underwood (Jason) of Carl Junction, Adam Ogle of Carl Junction and Kristen Mishmash (Kyle) of Wichita; his mother Mildred Burgess; and his siblings, Mike Burgess (Charlette), Jeff Burgess (Carolyn), Sharon Burkholter (Sam) and Brian Burgess (Tina). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that gifts be sent to the family in care of Parker Mortuary.
