He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer McCormick and Ethel McCormick (Bush) of New Jersey; and his brothers, David McCormick of New Jersey and Elmer "Sonny" McCormick of New Jersey. He is survived by: his wife Heidi Ann McCormick of Carl Junction, Missouri; his siblings, Jean Pierce, Barbara Thomas, Pat Shute and Donald McCormick; his son Douglas J. McCormick, Jr. (Andrea McCormick) of St. Louis, Missouri; his stepchildren, Dustin Briscoe (Skip) of Washington, Amber Turner of Carl Junction, Missouri, Ashlee Briscoe of Carl Junction, Missouri and Brittany Briscoe of Carl Junction, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Maya, Bennett McCormick, Bailee Rickard, Mary and Maggie Turner.

“DJ, Andi, Heidi, Bennett, Maya, Ashlee and all others.... I am so very sorry for your loss. Doug was my crazy uncle who loved being with his family. I can still picture him dancing at my wedding, and other times spent together. I pray that your pain is eased if only slightly knowing that he is out of pain and no longer dependent on oxygen.
