It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rhonda Thornton of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, born in Marks, Mississippi, who passed away on December 19, 2023, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Carter and Mamie Carter (Golden); and her sister Ruby Gardener. She is survived by: her daughters, Srhonda Miles of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Mary Smith of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and her siblings, John Thornton of Lambert, Larry Thornton of Chicago, Illinois, Charles Carter of Illinois, Dollie McGee of Cape Girardeau and Mary Taylor of Clarksdale, Mississippi. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also, by other relatives and friends.
