He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugo E. Richter and Bertha Weber Richter; and his siblings, Edward "Ebs" Richter, Marvin Richter, Lorene Stueve, Nelda Mirly, Viola Boehme and Norma Haertling.

He is survived by: his wife Audrey L. Heider April; his children, Saundra Richter of Jackson, Scott Bollinger of Jackson and Matthew Richter (Amy) of Jackson; and his grandchildren, Aundrea Gonzaque of St. Louis, Austin Gonzaque of Cape Girardeau, Jake and Riley Richter of Jackson.
