He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Samuel Gottlieb and Hattie Ida Maevers Gerlach; and his brothers, Bobby Gene of Jackson and Harold Lee of Cape Girardeau. He is survived by: his wife Mary J. Engram Gerlach; his stepchildren, Sid Gerlach (Pam) of Cape Girardeau and David Gerlach (Lisa) of Cape Girardeau; his stepgranddaughter Julie Martin (Mark) of Fenton, Missouri.; his grandchildren, Seth, Emily, Merritt, Erin, Sam Gerlach, Shane, Jessie and Mike Martin; and his great grandchildren, Lucy, Palmer, Mary Caroline Holzum, Stella Proffer, Reid, Vida, Miller Keys, Gus Gerlach and Rose Jercinovic.
