He was predeceased by: his parents, Orble Smothers and Minnie Mann Smothers; and his daughter-in-law Teresa Smothers. He is survived by: his sons, Dennis Smothers (Kay) of Poplar Bluff and Howell Smothers of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Jason Smothers (Julie), Rodney Smothers and Heather Sooton (Yen). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
