We are sad to announce that on August 27, 2024, at the age of 90, John A. Lesar Sr. of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, born in Thebes, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, John shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid John farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Lesar and Thelma Durham Lesar; and his sons, Billy Lesar and Timothy Lesar. He is survived by: his close friend Barbara Wishart of Cape Girardeau; his children, John A. Lesar, Jr. (Darletha) of Granite City, Brian Scott Lesar (Phyllis) of Biloxi, Mississippi, Shelia Dodson of Thebes and Trina Jones (Larry) of Tamms, Illinois; and his stepdaughters, Kristen Sanders (James) of Scott City and Jenna McIntosh (Shannon) of Chaffee, Missouri. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
