It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Danny Smith of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, who passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Smith and Dora D. Smith (Dixon); his son James M. Smith; and his siblings, Mac Smith, Alfred Smith, Johnny Smith, David Smith, Audrey Matthews, Imogene Hanger and Kathleen Woodridge.
He is survived by: his children, William "B. J." Smith (Heather Phillips) of Cape Girardeau and Alexis Matheney (Travis) of East Prairie; his grandchildren, Gavin Smith, Kaden Smith, Elynn Smith, Ayla Smith and Bobby Joe Matheney; and his sisters, Joann Houck of Benton, Annie Leonard of Benton and Sharon Raines of Scott City. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel (203 W Yoakum Ave, Chaffee, MO 63740).
