He was predeceased by: his parents, William McKinley and Bess Gholson Barks; his brother Donnell Barks; and his brothers-in-law, Franc Guthrie and Bob Allen.
He is survived by: his wife Donna; his daughter Sarah Barks of Cape Girardeau; his daughter-in-law Pam Barks of Webster Groves, Missouri; his grandchildren, Haleigh and Tyler Barks of Webster Groves; his sister Margaret Guthrie of Columbia, Missouri; and his sister-in-law Petra Allen of Land. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
