He was predeceased by: his parents, William Paul and Fredericka Pearl Kneibert Kitchen; his siblings, Bill Kitchen, Gene Kitchen, Paul Kitchen, Howard "Sam" Kitchen, Jerry Lee Kitchen, Jake Kitchen and JoAnn Blattel; his grandson Tanner Thorne; and his son Darrell Douglas.

He is survived by: his children, Bryan Dale Kitchen of Houston, Texas and Barbara "BaBa" Trickey of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; his grandchildren, Jeremy Kitchen, Cody Kitchen, Courtney Joyner and Taylor Thorne; and his brother Larry Kitchen.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
