Diane Marie (French) Lane Obituary
Diane Marie Lane of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, born in Perryville, Missouri, passed away at the age of 69 on October 2, 2023 at her home in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Diane was a member of St. Mary Cathedral Parish in Cape Girardeau and frequently attended mass with her mother at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Perryville.
She was employed as the Business Office manager at Southeast Heart, Lung & Vascular Center in Cape Girardeau for over 20 years.
She was an avid Elvis fan and knew the words to most of his songs from memory, and greatly enjoyed going to Graceland, as well as traveling to craft shows and to the beach with her sisters. She found happiness and peace at the beach. She followed the Cardinal baseball games on tv and was a Bingo fan, often returning home as a winner of one or more games.
Through all of life's challenges, Diane remained gentle, yet brave, in the face of adversity. She suffered with cancer and had a stroke, and fought it all until she couldn't fight anymore. She sacrificed her own needs so she could give to others, never expecting anything in return.
She was loved and cherished by many people including : her mother, Bernice (Schnurbusch) French; her sisters Kathy, Jean, Janelle and her brother Danny. She was preceded in death by her father Robert French and her brother Jimmy French.
To Diane: We love you forever. Thanks for your smiles, the belly laughs, and your one-liners that were absolutely hilarious!
I THINK IT'S BRAVE
I think it's brave that you get up in the morning even if your soul is weary and your bones ache for a rest.
I think it's brave that you keep on living even if you don't know how to anymore.
I think it's brave that you push away the waves rolling in every day and you decide to fight.
I know there are days when you feel like giving up, but I think it's brave that you never do.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 .
