He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Edwards and Mary Edwards (Humphrey); and his wife Rosemary L. Way. He is survived by: his close friend June Trovillion of Cape Girardeau; and his children, Donald Way (late Donna) of Cape Girardeau, Richard Way of Fruitland, Dennis Way (Debbie) of Jackson, Bill Way (Wendy) of Cape Girardeau and Tyra Schmidt (Rick) of Cape Girardeau. He is also survived by several grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two siblings.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
