He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Fields and Ruth Smith Fields; his son Charles Fields; his brothers, J. W. Jelks and Bill Fields; his nephews, Roger and Christopher Fields; and his grandchild Wijan.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Ruopp Fields; his daughter Heather Mayer (Michael) of Beverly, Massachusetts; his siblings, Ted Fields (Jean) of St. Augustine, Jim Fields (Wanda) of Dawsonville, Georgia and Wilma Bell of Cincinnati, Ohio; and his grandsons, Ethan and Brandon Mayer.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel (1001 N Mt Auburn Rd, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701). A prayer was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Parish Prayers Jan. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (208 S Hope St, Jackson, MO 63755).
