It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anne Morie Skelton Lovel of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, who passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Louie Skelton of Winterville, Mississippi and Kathleen Eugenia Mitchell Skelton; her son Jeffrey Lloyd Lovel; and her sisters-in-law, Helen Wilkerson Skelton and Bonnie Potter Skelton.
She is survived by: her son Michael Lovel of Castleton, Indiana; her siblings, Emery Dale Skelton (Ann) of Lake Village, Louie Mack Skelton (Jane) of Greenville, William David Skelton (Charlotte) of Ruleville, Mississippi and Mary Edith Skelton Grochau (Earl) of Memphis, Tennessee; her husband Dr. Gwinn Marshall Lovel; and also, Donna Powell of Williamsburg and Mary Kay Belter of Seadrift, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Grace United Methodist Church or Dr. Gwinn M. Lovel Scholarship at Southeast Missouri University Foundation.
