He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Carr and Beulah Carr (Davis); and his brother Carl D. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Luetta Carr; his son Brian Carr; his nephews, Michael Smith, Carey Smith and Tommy Smith; and his niece Kimberly Angeles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude Research Hospital (http://www.stjude.org).
