He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Clifford and Mildred Ramsey Clifford; his spouse Shirley Jean Bentley; and his brothers, Louis Clifford and Richard "Dick" Clifford.

He is survived by: his daughter Bentley Utgaard (John) of Murray, Kentucky; his grandson Edward Utgaard of Murray, Kentucky; and his cousin Bill Ramsey of Campbell. He is also survived by sisters and brothers in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
