He was predeceased by: his wife Monica Murphy; his children, Joe and Mary Ellen; his brother Richard; and his son-in-law Monty Biggerstaff.
He is survived by: his children, Lyle Whitaker (Kelly) of Macon, MO, John Whitaker (Cindee), Martha Gates (Jerry) of Cameron, MO and Julie Biggerstaff; and his daughter-in-law Joyce Whitaker. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
