He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter O'Connell and Cecilia O'Connell; his brother John Pete O'Connell; and his wife Sharon. He is survived by: his son Brendt O'Connell; and his nieces and nephews, Mary Cay Tokic, Anita Bonderer, Kevin O'Connell and Tim O'Connell.

A rosary was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the St. Munchin Catholic Church (301 N Cedar St, Cameron, MO 64429). Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Rita's Building Fund.
