He was predeceased by: his son Michael Altman; his stepchild Lynn McKeone; and his sister Dorothy Solomon (late Ely). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn McKeone; his daughter Sharyn Altman; his stepchild Kelly Markus (Mark); his granddaughters, Margaret "Maggie" and Samantha "Sammie" Markus; and his nieces and nephews, Gene Solomon, Ginger Hope and Roberta Solomon.
