He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joshua and Ella Elizabeth Thorp (Parrish); and his siblings, John, Bobby, Charles, Jimmy, Alvin, Harry, Dorothy, Betty, Bertha, Marjorie and Mildred.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Julie Mathis (Kevin) of Cairo, MO and Jesse Thorp (Cindy) of Hartsburg, MO; his grandsons, Lane Mathis (Shelby) of Aurora, CO, Joshua Thorp, Jamie Harris of Kansas City, MO and Wyatt Mathis of Moberly, MO; his sisters, Vicky and Joyce; and his sisters-in-law, Peggy Osbourn of Springfield, MO and Judy Mahon (Jerry) of Clearwater, FL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
