He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Patterson and Alice Patterson (Akers); and his brothers, Daniel Patterson, Ray Akers and Dave Akers.

He is survived by: his former wife Christina Madry; his wife Tina Patterson; his daughters, Kristin Holdman (Ross), Andrea Pettus (Chris) and Rachel Gallaher (Trevor); his grandchildren, Skyler Pettus, Ashton Holdman, Evan Holdman, Owen Holdman, Alex Patterson, Alaynah Holdman and Liam Gallaher; and his brother Tim Patterson.
