He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Lee Wells and Vada Williams Wells; his wife Isabelle Clemons Wells; and his siblings, James Wells, Ella Simons, Ruby Boggess, Lucille Carpenter, Christine Dotson, Daulene McCord, Ruth Whitton, Grace Bentley, Cora Mae Wells, Bernice Leet Grant and Edith Wilson.
He is survived by: his children, Leslie Clemons Wells (Patrice) of Theodosia, William "Bill" Wells (Gale) of Summersville, Harry Lee Wells (Karen) of Eureka and Vada Rhyne (Lonnie) of Cabool. He is also survived by great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
