He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henson and Virginia Edna Jackson Meade; his former wife Bonnie Meade; his wife Emma Meade; and his children, Virginia "Jenny" Miller, John William "Billy" Meade Jr. and Claude "Buddy" Meade.
He is survived by: his daughters, Christine E. Meade of Butler, Missouri and Kathy S. Meade of Butler, Missouri; and his sisters, Ruby Rawlings, Mary Branzelle and Margaret Butler. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
