James Clarence Barber Obituary
James C Barber, 82, of Buffalo, Missouri passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, Buffalo, Missouri. James was born on April 24, 1940, in Okemah, Oklahoma to G C and Laura Barber. James loved reading, especially Scripture, sermons and commentaries. He also enjoyed fly fishing. James last attended First Baptist Church of Buffalo, after his health required retirement from the pastorate. He last pastored at First Baptist Church, Plad, Missouri. James was preceded in death by his parents, G C Barber and Laura Barber of Weleetka, Oklahoma; brother Charles Barber, of Muskogee, Oklahoma. James is survived by his children and their spouses, J C and Dr Amy Barber, Gainesville, Missouri; Clara and Adam Lawrence of Springfield, Missouri; Silas and Dee Barber of Bolivar, Missouri; Laura and Stuart Stygles of Vieques, Puerto Rico; and Dr Lyle and Lisa Barber of Clever, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Ella Barber, Amanda Lawrence and partner Nikhil Vashee, Joshua Lawrence, Kelsie Barber, Kallie Barber, Nikita Duling and partner Joe D'Angelo, Breanna Piper and spouse Ezra Piper, Mariah Barber, Joshua Olfill, and Trenton Barber; two great grandchildren, Walter Piper and Margaret Piper; one sister, Eloise Burden; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife Rosie Barber, of Humansville, Missouri. A celebration of life for James will be at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 23, at Bennett Springs Park.
