He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Maddux and Mary Maddux (Griffith); his brother Donald Wayne Maddux; and his stepdaughter Karen Garcia. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Maddux; his son Layne Maddux (Brandy) of Buffalo, Missouri; his stepchildren, Leland Dame of Tunas, Robert Dame of Buffalo, Missouri and Tammy Dame of Buffalo, Missouri; and his sisters, Linda Howard (Jack) of Springfield and Rosalie Franklin (Bill) of Rolla, Missouri. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Howard's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
