He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Hickson and Flora Mae Hickson (Hammonds); and his son Paul. He is survived by: his wife Ruth; and his children, Don (Rhonda Hickson), Dan (Karen Hickson) and Susan (Larry Graham). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church Outreach Program.
