Laurie Joyce Briggs Obituary

Laurie Joyce (Skinner) Briggs, 70, of Brunswick, MO, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.

Laurie was born on December 12, 1952, in Anchorage, AK, the daughter of Jack and Bonnie (Casey) Skinner. Laurie's father was in the Air Force, which meant that she changed schools several times during her childhood. She lived in Alaska, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Florida. She attended high school in Coventry, RI and later went on to graduate from Coventry Tech.

Laurie managed the Mobil Oil gas stations in Boca Raton, FL until her retirement in 2005. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, doing housework, and reading.

Laurie is survived by her significant other of the home, Kevin Straub; two children, D'Ann Johnson and her husband Kevin of Boynton Beach, FL and Jason Briggs of De Leon Springs, FL; four grandchildren, Thomas, Jordan, Kevin Jr., and Ethan; and one sister, Heather Skinner of Boynton Beach, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Arrangements were under the direction of Breshears Memorial Chapels.
