He was predeceased by: his parents, Ina Jansen (Anderson) and Gerard Sr. Jansen; his sons, Larry Jansen and Kenneth Jansen; his sisters, Gleva Bondy and Erna Straub; his brothers-in-law, Alfred Bondy, Leo Straub, Elmer Leimkuehler and Maurice Feitz; and his daughter-in-law Kathy Jansen.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Feitz; his daughters, Brenda Gunn (Kirk) of Brunswick, MO and Greta Williams (Tony) of Menomonee Falls, WI; his grandchildren, Jennifer Gunn of Kearney, MO, David Gunn of Warrensburg, MO, Elizabeth Cravens (Adam) of Salisbury, MO, Allen Williams (Danielle) of Sussex, WI, Nathan Williams of Utica, NY, Kerrie Rich (Marcus) of Sweet Springs, MO, Mitchell Pittman (Taylor) of Columbia, MO and Lydia Jansen of Brookfield, MO; and his sisters, Marlene Leimkuehler of Fayette, MO, Sylvia Whaley (John) of Cameron, MO and Carol Jansen (Mary) of Omaha, NE.. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Chariton County Cupboard or St. John's Lutheran Church.
