She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Sr. Schmidt and Anna Bernadette (Miller) of Minnesota; her husbands, Eugene "Bud" Peterson and Russell Stanley of Missouri; and her siblings, Phillip Schmidt Jr. of Minnesota, Richard "Dick" Schmidt of Minnesota and Elizabeth "Betty" Dubuque of Minnesota.

She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Hammons of Green City and Kathleen Smith (Lew) of Punta Gordo; her grandchildren, Cindy Hammons, Keith Hammons (Jamie) of Green City and Sarah Bedient (Gabe) of Arizona; and her great grandchildren, Gage, Callie McReynolds and Astrid Bedient.
