He is survived by: his children, Mark Winters of Indiana, Debra Dilworth of Jefferson City, J. R. Woods of Chicago and Laurie Cooper of Dallas; his grandson Kayode "Jay" Winters; and his niece Linda Deaner (Alice Bashley). He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A burial was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery (17357 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, MO 63825).
