He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Wheatcraft and Mary Alice Wheatcraft (Enoch); his son Douglas J. Wheatcraft; his brother Jerry Wheatcraft; and his half-brother Jack Wheatcraft.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Mitchell; his son Scott Wheatcraft (Ned Snyder); his grandchildren, Alex Holcer (Hayden) and Micky Snyder (Dylan Hulett); his great grandchildren, Kaesen Foster and Easton Hulett; and his siblings, Janice Stone and Bill Wheatcraft (Peggy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
