He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfonse James and Ana Thomas (Dias); his sons, Richard Lewis Thomas and Mark Thomas; and his former spouse Beverly Thomas.

He is survived by: his children, Sheila (Ed Burns) of Brookfield, Keith Thomas of Porterville, Billy Thomas of Porterville and Jim Thomas. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
